Frosty medium gray with lighter gray on the highpoints. Looks smooth to the unaided eye but microscopic granularity covers the fields and protected areas and there is a faint planchet lamination on the obverse. The top of the date is tight to the edge of the planchet but everything is easily readable. Listed on pages 49-50 in the "Redbook."
