Lot 153 1787 Connecticut Miller 33.4-Z.2 R7- DBL, PCGS graded VF35

Rather glossy dark olive brown. Looks smooth to the unaided eye but a glass reveals microscopic roughness in the fields and protected areas. The highpoints are smooth. No verdigris and just a few trivial contact marks including two small nicks in the field before the nose and chin. Struck a bit off center to K-7 leaving the lower half of the date off the planchet. Not perfect but still quite nice, certainly one of the finest of this very rare variety. Weight 132.7 grains. Comes with a great provenance. The attribution and Twin Leaf provenance are noted on the PCGS label.
