Lot 169 1787 Connecticut Miller 33.23-Z.4 R5 DBL, PCGS graded XF40

Glossy medium brown. Smooth and choice except for a weak strike at the top of the reverse with minor weakness on the opposing area at the bottom of the obverse. Struck slightly off center to the bottom. The date is bold. Later die state with obvious swelling at NNEC. A nice example, superior to the Taylor and Perkins examples. Weight 135.4 grains. The attribution and Robert M. Martin Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. (The front of the holder is scuffed.)
