Lot 199 1787 Connecticut Miller 37.5-e R5 DBL, PCGS graded VF30
Glossy steel brown and light chocolate. The centers are covered with planchet chips but the fields are perfectly smooth with hard surfaces suggesting the dies were new. There is a speck of verdigris over the second N in CONNEC and an incomplete planchet cutter impression from K-6 to K-9 on the reverse. Struck slightly off center to K-5.5 leaving the top of the head of the seated figure off the planchet. Otherwise the date and legends are complete and strong. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label.
