^Lot 239 1787 Machin's Mills Vlack 17-87B, W-7910 R2 F15

Mostly glossy dark olive brown and steel with lighter brown in protected areas. Mostly smooth but a glass reveals microscopic roughness in the fields and protected areas. The only notable mark is a thin planchet fissure slanting down through the portrait, strongest at the bottom (as struck). EDS but not the earliest with a small cud break connecting the bases of the G & E in GEORGIVS. The date is strong and the legends are clear. Weight 116.5 grains.
