PERU, Lima, gold cob 4 escudos, 1750 R, mule with 8E cross side, NGC MS 64 (Shipwreck Blue Label), "top pop," ex-Luz (1752), ex-Almenara. S-L31; Cal-692; Fr-13; KM-A47. 13.50 grams. Excellent full cross-lions-castles in 8E size and full pillars-and-waves (all well centered), the latter with bottoms of digits of second date in legend visible, good luster, tied with one other for finest in NGC census for this variety. From the Luz (1752), with photo-certificate, pedigreed to the Almenara Collection (stated on label).
